Chi Phi Zeta Chapter is the 'culmination of a vision' of Dr. Genevia Gano and Soror Rosa Pickett. These ladies saw a need to share Zeta Phi Beta Sorority's four (4) principles: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood in the Seminole County, FL community. With commitments from Sorors Betty Brown, Samelia Phillips, Lillie Fenderson, Vickie Williams, and now Triumphant Soror, Virginia Willis, there were more than enough Sorors to form a chapter. On Saturday, October 31st, 2009, Chi Phi Zeta Chapter was chartered by our 17th Southeastern Regional Director, Soror Huretta M. Wright and 17th Florida State Director, Soror Erna Foushee. This momentous event took place at the historic Allen Chapel A. M. E. Church in Sanford, Florida. 

 

Over the years, membership increased through Transfers, Reclamation, and Induction of New Members. 

 

With the help of these ladies, while adhering to the principles of Zeta, Chi Phi Zeta Chapter has participated in numerous initiatives including supporting Domestic Violence Awareness, Donating Wigs for Cancer Patients, and hosting an Annual Scholarship Luncheon. Proceeds from the luncheon helped reward thousands of dollars in scholarships to several deserving students in our community of Seminole County, FL. 

 

In addition, we continue to support several Elder Care facilities in Seminole County, FL. We also have several Adopt-A-Schools where we donate non-perishable items to their Love Pantry, participate in their Reading Acceleration Program, and donate cash to purchase supplies for enhancing student achievement. 

 

Our ongoing projects extend from Safe House, a haven for abused families for the past several years, as we continue to donate necessary supplies to the facility.  

 

​The ladies of Chi Phi Zeta Chapter are "a rare, unique bouquet of flowers". Some are quiet and soft spoken; others are fierce and mighty. We are loving and strong, but like any Finer Woman, we know when and how to compromise and be of one accord. 

 

Since 2009, we have grown from our small, strong chartering number of 7 Sorors. As, our latest growth took place during our epic Centennial celebration, February 2020, Chi Phi Zeta Chapter reclaimed two (2) of our own lovely Sisters alongside inducting and introducing to the community five (5) new dynamic Sorors.
